William Joseph Brown
CLINTON - William Joseph "Bill" Brown, 66, was called home on October 6, 2019, at his home. He was born on May 11, 1953, in Greencastle, to the late William Franklin and Barbara Ann (Sears) Brown.
Bill graduated from Greencastle High School in the class of 1971. He was an avid songwriter and enjoyed playing guitar for his family and friends.
Bill loved meeting people and his career in aviation gave him the opportunity to do that. He was employed by ABX Air in Ohio from 1985 to 2010 as the director of technical sales and aircraft engine procurement. Bill traveled extensively, not only domestically but internationally, as well. He hosted the Air Carriers Purchasing Conference event in Chicago in 2008.
Several years after retiring, William moved back to his native Indiana to be closer to his family and friends, always staying in touch with the many friends he made during the course of his career.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Ruth; and his former wife and mother of his two children, Carol.
Bill is survived by his wife, Deborah of Clinton; son, Christopher of Clinton; daughter, Katie of San Diego; three sisters, Bonnie (David) Callahan of Reelsville, Peggy (David) McCullough of Reelsville, and Janet (Harold) Rumple of Prairie Creek; a stepsister, Shirlee (Dale) Roahrig or Martinsville; sister-in-law, Julia (Philip) McFarland; and brother-in-law, William Simpson of Terre Haute. Bill will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Wabash Valley for their support and care. Special appreciation to Lori and Mary, his nurses; and to Jennifer, his aide.
A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday, October 25, 2019, at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil. The family will accept friends on Friday from 4:00 P.M. until the time of service.

Dear Debbie and family,
I’m so very sorry for your loss. I wish that I had better words to send you, but know your in my heart during this very difficult time. Stay strong and let your family help you find your way to a place where you can find some kind of peace. Keep all of your memories right there. At times you might feel tortured by them, but let them get you to that beautiful place where you can heal. ♥️

Sorry for your loss. I knew Bill thru Melvin and we all rode bikes and chimed around Clinton Township many times. Also put up hay for Jake a few times. He was a good man.

The world is a little bit sadder, a little bit less jovial, a little bit more quieter...Bill always had a great story to share, a kind word, an offer of what do you need? I couldn’t have asked for a better brother in law and my heart aches knowing he is no longer to share his life with us, but oh those memories...cherished forever...love and miss you sweet Billy, thanks for all you have given us...❤️😪

We laughed at each others stories as children & grew old together. We shared each others time together through our years as friends. He is missed already. He was fun to be with & always had a story. We put up hay on so hot miserable days, we played hard together in high school sports, we fished together , we ate together & he was a true friend. I'm glad my 3 year old grandson & I went to see him before his passing. Farewell Old Friend.

Bill was a good man, although we have not seen each other in several years since his retirement. We were good friends, he was joy to work with in the aviation community, he will be missed by his AV Family.

God must have grown tired of the old stories in Heaven. A new story teller is on the way. Take good care of him for us please.
