William (Bill) David Lutz.
Born, October 27, 1924.
Entered into the loving arms of Jesus, December 8, 2019.
Bill was born In Terre Haute, Indiana to William E. Lutz and Frances E. (Horn) Lutz. He attended and graduated from Wiley High School and Indiana State Teacher's College.
During his working years, he was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad, United States Postal Service, Social Security Administration from which he retired. He served his country honorably in the US Army from December 1948 to December 1949 and again from September 1950 to November 1951, 176th Artillery Division. Landed at Inchon, Korea and supported 1st ROK Infantry Division. Korean Service Ribbon w/two bronze service stars. Discharge rank, Tech Sergeant.
After leaving the military, Bill married Beverly M. Huppert in 1952 and fathered three children: David was born 1953, and twins Rebecca Ann and Mary Beth, 1954. Bill loved spending time with his family and church and had a very strong passion for music, especially classical and pipe organ. He was also an avid photographer, capturing many special family and community moments. He also was a big fan of the ISU Lady Sycamores basketball team.
Bill was preceded in death by wife Beverly and son David. Surviving are daughters Rebecca Creasey (Carl), Mary Beth Mowrey (Phil); grandchildren Jacob Wright (wife Melissa), David Wright (fiancée Phoebe), Hannah Mowrey (life partner Raphael), Sarah Bigham (husband Jon), Michael Lutz, and Aaron Lutz; great-grandchildren Alex Bigham, Michael Contreras, Ava Wright, Jaxon Wright.
The family extends their thanks and gratitude for the kindness and compassion of his many caregivers in his final days.
Cremation is scheduled. A memorial/remembrance celebration of life will be held at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St, Terre Haute, In. Saturday December 14th, 2019. Visitation is from 1:00 p.m. to service time, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Memorial Methodist Church, Choral Music Library, or any charity of your choice.
