Willa Mae Anderson Maxwell, 83, of Terre Haute, transitioned on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, in Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on Oct. 30, 1935, in Terre Haute, to Willie and Marie Anderson.

Willa retired from Columbia House. She also worked as a home health aid and with the Foster Grandparent program, as a foster grandparent. Willa loved being a caretaker and caring for people was a passion of hers, while also enjoying cooking, baking, and entertaining family and friends.

Willa was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clay Maxwell Jr.; her parents, Willie and Marie Anderson; brother, Leonard Anderson; two sisters, Jeannette and Shirley; and granddaughter, Danielle Marie Minnett.

Willa is survived by her children, Doris Jean Minnett (Barry), Henry Clay Maxwell III (Kim) of Terre Haute, Michael Randall Maxwell Sr. (Carol) of New Castle; grandchildren, Stefanie Minnett, Barry Minnett Jr. (Jessica), Michael Maxwell II, Joshua Maxwell, Daniel Maxwell, Henry Clay Maxwell IV, Derrick Maxwell, Shane Russell, Aigner Bradley, Michael Coleman (Ashley), Ni'sa Coleman, Terris Coleman (Lindsey); several great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Joann Lee (Jordan); two brothers, the Rev. Dorri Anderson (Barbara) and Willie Anderson (Dorothy); a special friend, Will Kelly; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation is 11 a.m. until services 12 noon Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2401 7th Avenue, Terre Haute.
