Brazil - Wesley Karl Clagg, age 63 of Brazil, Indiana died at 6:24pm on September 15, 2025.
He was born December 22, 1961, in Alton, Illinois, to Karl Dean Clagg and Benita Louise Ward Clagg. Following graduation from Indiana State University in 1984 he began his profession as an aeronautical engineer. During his career he worked as part of a team that developed components for the Pratt & Whitney F119 engine used in the USAF's F-22 Raptor.
He was an outdoorsman, spending many years as an avid bow hunter. He enjoyed spending time with family, reading, listening to music, fishing and foraging for morels. He loved spending time on his sister and brother-in-law's farm where he lived the last year and a half of his life with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kathleen Clagg; and girlfriend, Carla Fitzgerald.
He was the father of Katie Clagg (partner Tim McCaffery), Kendra Mackey (husband Justin Mackey) and Caedmon Peacock. He had seven grandchildren: Lara Mackey, Danielle Buckallew Mackey, Eleanorah Mackey, Henry Mackey, Matthew Mackey, Jeremiah Mackey, and Ruby McCaffery. He was the brother of Karla (Craig) Erkkila, Karen (Joe) Britton, and Kimberly (Charles) Wilkerson.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Calcutta Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Kevin Szwarga will officiate. Online condolences may be made to:
