Walter L. Horn
CLAY CITY - Walter L. "Wally" Horn, 78, of Clay City passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 in Kindred Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born on September 12, 1941 in Brazil to Renos and Pearl (Willen) Horn.
Wally was a retired farmer.
Wally was a 1959 graduate of Clay City High School and then from Porter Business College in Indianapolis. He served in the National Guard in Brazil from 1963-69. Wally worked for a period of time as a computer operator for the former Columbia House in Terre Haute. He was a member of Clay City Church of Christ and Masonic Lodge #562 in Clay City. Wally was a honorary member of FFA in Clay City and a past member of the Growers Co-Op board. He loved watching his children and grandchildren's sporting events and just being outdoors farming. Wally enjoyed going on cruises every year and he and his wife recently traveled to Alaska.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Sondra (Dusthimer) Horn; 4 daughters, Suzette Ames and husband, Michael, Lori Miller and husband, Rob, Kim White and husband, Charles, and Heather Edwards and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Parker and Madelyn Ames, Josh and Kaylee Miller, Danielle, Dillon and Dalaena White, and Ethan and Alex Edwards. Wally was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Clay City Church of Christ, 6570 State Road 59, Clay City, with Pastor Scott Wiley officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled on Friday, November 8, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 301 E. 8th Street, Clay City.
