Vincent James Hungerford Obituary

Vincent James Hungerford, 94, passed away to his heavenly home Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, in Union Hospital. He was born May 2, 1924, in Clinton, to William Green Hungerford and Hazel [Howard] Hungerford.

He was a graduate of Terre Haute Gerstmeyer High School class of 1943 and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Vincent retired from Wabash Fiber Box. He enjoyed reading, loved to garden and work in his yard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret [Corbin] Hungerford; and three brothers, Charles Hungerford, William Hungerford and Clyde Hungerford.

Vincent is survived by his son, James C. Hungerford, Terre Haute; his daughter, Nancy Rupp and her husband Lynn, Terre Haute; granddaughter, Deborah Voll and her husband Brian, Fort Wayne; sister, Donna Cox, Indianapolis; brother, Gerald Hungerford, Morehead City, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Thomas Manbeck officiating. Vincent will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park with military honors by Rosedale American Legion Post 290.
