Terre Haute, Indiana - TERRE HAUTE - Thomas Henry Terry, 88, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at his residence.

He was born May 5, 1937, in Mecca, Indiana, to the late Elvin Lee Terry and Lola Violet Lawrence Terry. Tom was a graduate of Mecca High School and proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960. He worked as an elevator constructor and took great pride in his trade.

His wife of 49 years, Marcia Sue Newman Terry, whom he married on June 1, 1963, in Rockville, preceded him in death on September 23, 2012.

Survivors include his son, Chad Thomas (Meghan) Terry of Terre Haute; his beloved grandchildren, Jolee Terry (Daniel), Briley and Lakyn Hadley; three great-grandchildren, Marcey and Landry Gregory, and Bentley Hadley; and siblings: Eva Thompson of Rockville, Pearl Eup of Florida, Helen Reeder of Rockville, Harold Terry of Terre Haute, Donald Terry of Clinton, Richard Terry of Clinton, and Tim Terry of Rockville.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Budd; and a brother, Jim Terry.

Tom was a hardworking man devoted to his family. He enjoyed the simple things in life and was deeply loved by all who knew him.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 23 at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville, Indiana, with Pastor Barry Briley officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Gooch Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville at a later date.
