Thomas L. Ellingsworth Jr., 72, of Terre Haute, IN, died at 12:38 PM October 5, 2020. He was born in Terre Haute, IN, on April 3, 1948, to Thomas Ellingsworth Sr. and Della Melvin Ellingsworth.

He was a retired painter. Memberships included the American Legion, AMVETS, and V.F.W. West Terre Haute.

He was a Vietnam U.S. Marine veteran with a Purple Heart, Distinguished Unit Citation, Presidential Unit Citation, Silver Star, and Combat Valor Achievement Medal.

Thomas married Charlene Slavens on November 20, 2009.

He was preceded in death by 1 son, John Bonham; 1 grandson, Johnny Bonham; his parents; 1 sister, Dianna Slater; and 1 brother, David Ellingsworth.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene "Sue" Ellingsworth of Terre Haute, IN; 3 sisters, Brenda Kilgo of Mississippi, Joyce (Dennis) Vines of Terre Haute, IN, and Jeannie Bonfer of Ft. Pierce, FL; stepchildren, Ryan Williams of St. Bernice, IN, and Angela Rogers of St. Bernice, IN; brothers, James Ellingsworth of Florida, Jeff Ellingsworth of Terre Haute, IN, and Christopher Ellingsworth of Terre Haute, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial mass will be conducted at St. Mary-of-the-Woods Village Church with Fr. Darvin Winters officiating, Monday, October 12, at 11:00AM. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Tuesday, October 13, at 11:00AM, with military services. Online condolences can be left at:
