Indianapolis, Indiana - Terry Strain passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 3, 2025. He was born March 29, 1945, in Prairie Creek.

Terry graduated from Honey Creek High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Science degree from Indiana State University and a Specialist in Education from Indiana University.

He was a high school teacher for over 30 years, teaching Spanish and French at Perry Meridian High School.

He was a member of Beech Grove Independent Nazarene Church in Beech Grove for 51 years.

Terry was an avid sportsman. He loved baseball, basketball and golf. He also loved to hunt morel mushrooms.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Catherine (Heady) Strain; and a daughter Amanda Strain. He has two surviving brothers, Kenny (Cookie) and Jack (Sharon); and a sister Janet Manley; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding him in death are his parents Rev. Elmer and Mary Strain; brothers Elmer Jr., Bob, Bud and Max; and an infant sister, Patsy.

Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Prairie Creek Baptist Church in Prairie Creek, IN. Burial is at 1:30 p.m. at New Harmony Cemetery.
