Terre Haute, IN - TERRE HAUTE - Susan Marie (Robbins) Cowdrey, born June 29, 1942, passed away in the loving care of the nurses and caretakers of Southwood Healthcare Center Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 2:20 pm in the company of her daughter, Shawn Williams; her son-in-law, Kevin Williams; and her oldest granddaughter.

Susie, as everyone knew her, grew up in Seelyville, IN with her parents Robert F. and Marie E. Robbins and sister Barbara Wheatfill, who have each preceded her in death. She graduated from East Glenn High School, and worked for 30+ years at Union Hospital in Nuclear Medicine.

After retirement she lived a peaceful life in southern Vigo County with neighbors she loved.

She attended church for many years at First Prairie Creek Baptist Church. Susie enjoyed mowing her lawn and tending to her flower gardens in the summers and crocheting and jigsaw puzzles in the winter. She loved her dogs, who were wonderful companions to her.

Susie was survived by her son, Thomas Cowdrey Jr. (Vanessa Foote-Cowdrey); daughter, Shawn Williams (Kevin Williams); and 6 grandchildren, Ashley Speer (Mike Speer), Richard Hardesty, Wesley Foote-Cowdrey, Preston Cowdrey, Kevin Williams and Brandon Hunt. She had 5 great-grandchildren, Asa, Emma, Presley, Bailey and Colton.

Susie loved her family sacrificially and we will cherish the memories of her love for many years to come.

A celebration of life will be held in honor of Susie at West Side Christian Church in West Terre Haute on Sunday, June 28th from 12:30-2pm.

The family appreciates thoughts and prayers and would like to especially thank those who not only took care of Susie at Southwood Healthcare Center but were truly friends to her.
