Linton, Indiana - Steven L. "Steve" Priest, 79, of Linton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, January 27, 2026, at his daughter Heather's home, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly. Born on October 10, 1946, in Linton, Steve was the son of John H. and Margaret "Maggie" (Snow) Priest.

Steve worked for many years at Novelis Aluminum (formerly ALCAN) in Terre Haute, where he built not only a career but many friendships. A man of faith and service, he was a proud member of St. Peter Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Linton Elks Lodge #866, all of Linton.

He leaves behind his loving daughter and son-in-law, Heather and John Yung; his cherished granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Haley Ann and Trenton Andrews; great-grandchildren Emelia "Emmy" and Mason Andrews; and a new great-granddaughter expected this spring. Steve is also survived by his sister, Peggy Walker; brother, Jim Priest; and a circle of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Kathy; and his brother, Herbert Grayson Priest.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Linton, with Father Srinivasa Malaka officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton, of Walton Funeral Service, on Friday from 4:00-7:00 PM, with the Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM, and again on Saturday from 9:00-9:45 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Linton Food Pantry, through the funeral home.
