Saline City, Indiana - SALINE CITY - Sokratis Katopodis, 86, passed away on November 15, 2025. Sokratis went home to his LORD and Savior at his home in Saline City, Indiana, peacefully surrounded by his family and a friend.

He was born on April 2, 1939, on the Ionian island of Katomeri, Meganisi, Lefkada, Greece, to Anastasiou and Panorea (Kolios) Katopodis.

He joined his family who preceded him in death: his parents; two sisters, Aryenee and Parasavcie Katopodis; two brothers, Demetriou and Christomos Katopodis; two sisters-in-law, Aggla and Ali Katopodis; one brother-in-law, Scotty Reed; and his special aunt Foni Katopodis. He is also reunited with his beloved little Bichon, fur baby Tiki.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Kay (Nees) Katopodis; his son, Michael Katopodis; and three grandchildren: Bradley Katopodis, Kelsey Fulford (Chris), and Mikka Katopodis (Billy). He is also survived by four brothers: Zois Katopodis, Xenophone (Noula) Katopodis, Vic (Koula) Katopodis, and Gerisomos (Maria) Katopodis.

Sokratis leaves behind ten great-grandchildren: Peyton Murphy, Emersyn Fulford, Jensen Fulford, Liam Fulford, Kobe Johnson, Averleigh Reynolds, Atreus Reynolds, Little Billy Reynolds, Tucker Reynolds, and Jewels Johnson. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Gloria Reed and Linda (Pastor Terry) McKinney; several nieces and nephews; cousins; and friends. A special friend, Josh Johnson (Megan), and Mikki (nurse at dialysis) were also dear to him.

Services will be held at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City, Indiana, on November 20, 2025, at 2:00 pm, with viewing from 11am to 2pm with Pastor Terry McKinney and Pastor Kevin McKinney officiating. Burial will follow at McCullough Zion Cemetery in Cory, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his spouse, Kay Katopodis, 1217 W. Saline Wood Street, Center Point, IN 47840, to help cover the cost of his dialysis treatments and other medical expenses not covered by insurance. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
