Terre Haute, Indiana - TERRE HAUTE - Shirley J. Strole, 85, passed away June 20, 2025.
She was born on May 29, 1940, to Charles and Dorothy Cline (Newman), who preceded her in death.
Shirley's first job was at an ice cream shop as a teenager. After graduating from Otter Creek High School in 1958, she went to beauty school. She then switched career paths and worked in the customer service field throughout her life until retirement from Beltone Hearing.
Her enjoyments in life were her family, including her very special little Yorkie, Scooter, taking pictures of her children and grandchildren to create photo albums for them, and serving as a Brownie and Cub Scout leader.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Strole; and brothers, Charles (Thelma) Cline Jr., and Richard (Marilyn) Cline. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Gary) Dersch and Christy (Eric) Donnenhoffer; sons, Rick (Angela) Rollings and Chris (Dawn) Strole; grandchildren, Amy (Chad) Adams, Brian (Kimberly) Rollings, Hannah Donnenhoffer, Haley Donnenhoffer, Justin Strole, and Dylan Strole; great-grandchildren, Austin Logan, Eli Logan, and Matthew Douglas; and dog, Scooter.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Bryan officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
