Brazil, Indiana - Shelly Ann Karn, 64, passed away January 22, 2026 after an extended illness.

Shelly was born to the late James and Anita (Hoffman) Deakins on August 8, 1961, in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Shelly graduated from Staunton High School in 1979 where she was involved in the band. On July 21, 1978, Shelly married her high school sweetheart, Bradley E. Karn. Together, they raised three children, Jennifer Lynn, Bradley Earl, and Benjamin. Shelly worked at Paige's, The Decorators, and Kroger. She enjoyed crocheting and playing online games. In her younger years she enjoyed exercising, sunbathing, and doing her makeup.

Shelly was preceded in death by her parents, James and Anita; her husband, Bradley; her son, Bradley Earl; a brother-in-law, Stephen White; and her beloved dogs, Ralfie and Otis.

Shelly is survived by her children, Jennifer Clodfelter (Matt) and Benjamin Karn; grandchildren, Julia, Nora, and Ava Clodfelter; a sister, Sheila Lavallee (Donald); and a brother, Matthew Deakins (Terra); brothers-in-law, Greg Karn (Janice) and Jeff Karn (Terri); a sister-in-law, Kim Holley (Ted); a great-aunt, Sharon Hoffman (Nan Engle); and her cat, Tippy. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 30th from 1-3 P.M. at Union United Church 780 East County Road 600 North. A funeral service will begin at 3 P.M. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
