Shelby Jean Bandy Obituary

Indianapolis, Indiana - INDIANAPOLIS - Shelby Jean Bandy, age 72, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, after a brief but courageous fight with cancer.

Shelby was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Phyllis and Ernie Huber, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Kyle of Indianapolis; and brother, Fred (Kathy) Huber of Terre Haute. She will be dearly missed by her many friends and family members as a tremendously kind and caring lady.

Shelby was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School in Terre Haute. She worked at the Indiana State University Payroll Department. Later in life, she worked as the Receptionist at the State of Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission. She served the Bridgeport United Methodist Church as Treasurer for several years. She enjoyed Lego, The Andy Griffith Show, and joining Kyle for visits to Indiana State Parks for amateur radio "Parks on the Air" activations.

No service will be held. Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society are encouraged in her loving memory.
