Anderson, IN - ANDERSON - Ruthita Marie (Sullivan) Joy, 100, passed away on August 23, 2025, in Anderson, Indiana.

Ruthita was born on October 1, 1924, in West Terre Haute, Indiana, to Maurice and Frances (Mann) Sullivan. She lived a fulfilling life filled with love and family, having been married to her dear husband Harold Joy for an incredible 56 years before he passed away.

Ruthita was actively involved in her Catholic Faith. She has been a lifelong member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church since 1950 and was proud to be part of the Holy Rosary Society and the Fatima Circle.

Ruthita is survived by her loving children: John (Kay) Joy, Nanette (Chuck) Leser, Jerry Joy, and Tim (Shannon) Joy; grandchildren, Gary Adams, Lisa Stinson, Jeff (Alison) Joy, Brendan (Heather) Hill, Devon Hill, Katie (Lisa) Joy, April Joy, Daniel (Lora) Etherington, Megan Joy, Lindsay (John) Gray, Cassie Santini, Sarah Joy, and Patrisha Hutcheson; along with 14 great-granddaughters, 12 great-grandsons, 2 great-great-granddaughters, and 1 great-great-grandson.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, her daughter Sandra Hill, her granddaughter Marcella Joy, her daughter-in-law Debbie Joy, her sons-in-law Del Hill and Kevin Etherington, and two brothers and two sisters.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bozell Funeral Homes, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2801 Lincoln St., Anderson, IN 46016. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to St. Ambrose Catholic Church or Saint Vincent DePaul.
