Robert E. Penn, 76, of Coloma, died at 12:46 AM on September 22, 2019, in Union Hospital Terre Haute. He was born December 7, 1942, in Coloma, to Arthur J. Penn and Betty M. Smith Penn.
He was a 1961 graduate of Montezuma High School. He was retired from R.L. Schutt in Indianapolis, where he had been a superintendent of bridges. He later worked for Ferguson Lumber Company and did construction on his own.
He was a member and deacon at the Independent Baptist Church in Montezuma. He also held U.S. patents on security doors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Richard Penn; one sister, Mary Price; sisters-in-law, Debbie Penn and Yvonne Penn; and brother-in-law, Mike Schutt.
He is survived by his wife Patsy S. Market Penn of Coloma, whom he married January 18, 1964, in Dana; one son, Brookelyn S. Penn of Coloma; two grandchildren, Ashley Jean Nicole Davis and Derek Brookelyn Shane Penn; three great-grandchildren, Zoey Chaney, Gracelyn Jo Davis, and Sophia Davis; brothers, Arthur "John" Penn Jr. (Judy) of Montezuma, Donald J. Penn of Terre Haute, and David Penn and Jerri McKinney of Montezuma; three sisters, Kathryn (Danny) Price of Coloma, Clara Schutt of Avon, and Teresa Allen of Indianapolis; one sister-in-law, Pat Penn of Montezuma; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Independent Baptist Church. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Keith McIntyre officiating. Burial will be in Coloma Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Independent Baptist Church. Online condolences may be made at:
