Terre Haute, IN - Robert E. Lawson, 96, of Terre Haute passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 in the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. He was born July 17, 1929 in Terre Haute to Frank Lawson and Mary E. (Clark) Lawson.

Survivors include his children: Debra Brennan, Jim Lawson (Shirley), Peggy Ridgway (John), Tom Lawson (Kim), Ron Lawson (Patti), and Connie Hayes (Larry); thirteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Heyen) Lawson; his parents; brothers, Bill, George, and Jim; sister, Marie Hoffman; son-in-law, Chuck Brennan; great great grandson, Lance McKinley; and his companion, Wilma Modesitt.

Robert was a Korean war Veteran. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #972 and North Union Methodist Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was the last surviving member of his graduating class at Glenn High School.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 11, 2025 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. Visitation will be prior to services from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Saturday. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Wabash Valley or the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #972.
