West Union, IL - WEST UNION, Ill. - Robert Etchason, 85, of West Union, Illinois, passed away on March 29th, 2026. Born on December 30th, 1940, Robert was the son of Cliff and Florence Etchason. Robert grew up on the family farm with sisters Linda Livvix and Ann Allison. After farming, Robert enjoyed a career selling cars, later becoming part owner of a dealership in Marshall, Illinois. Robert was also an auctioneer and an avid antique collector. Robert was a proud lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners.
Robert is survived by wife Donna, son John, sisters Linda Livvix and Ann Allison (Wayne), nephews Greg and Mark Livvix, Scott and Shane Allison.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Frank Livvix.
Robert enjoyed talking to and getting to know people, always sharing a laugh. Robert was a fan of the University of Illinois sports teams, especially the basketball team: Go Illini! Robert and son, John, enjoyed going to many sporting events together. Robert will be missed as a man who cared deeply for his family and friends.
The family has chosen to have a private ceremony and celebration of life at a later date.
