Marshall - Richard Wichman, 80, of Marshall, IL passed away 9:53 AM Friday, April 24, 2026 in the Willow Breeze Hospice House at Mattoon, IL. He was born August 27, 1945 at Carlinville, IL, the son of Herbert and Rose Wichman. Surviving are his wife, Sharon Stout Wichman who he married November 29, 1969; three daughters, Debra Wichman of Marshall, Melissa Burton of Terre Haute, IN and Ramona (Brian) Owens of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Melanie, Nathaniel, Cloe, Jacob, Jacklyn and Elizabeth; several great grandchildren and two siblings, Marjorie and Donald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gene and two sisters, Sheila and Delores. Richard served this nation in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Marshall Baptist Church. He had formerly been employed by AT&T and retired from Weston Paper. Following his retirement he worked part time at the Marshall Wal-Mart and enjoyed gardening, leather work and collecting old coins. A visitation will be 12 Noon to 1:00 PM Monday, May 4th at Pearce Funeral Home military rites in honor of his service will be held 1:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
