Richard Clarence Kyrouac, 92, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away at his home on November 21, 2022, in the arms of his loving wife of 72 years, Pearl.
Dick was born on September 23, 1930, to Leo and Gladys Kyrouac in Bourbonnais, Illinois, where he met the love of his life, Pearl. Together, they raised four children, Linda, Jeff, Rick, and Scott, who along with his 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren were the source of Dick's greatest pride and joy.
Dick served as a corporal in the Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, he joined Morton International and retired as Director of Public Affairs. He was very involved in the Naperville, Illinois community where he raised his children; he was active in the United Way and Chicago Rehabilitation Institute along with other charities and served as a lector and Eucharistic minister at St. Raphael Catholic Church.
In addition to Pearl and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Dick is mourned by his daughter, Linda Kyrouac Brower (Jack Clasen); his sons, Jeffrey (Cindy) and Richard Kyrouac (Theresa Chmielewski); his sister, Theresa Gifford; and his brother, James Kyrouac. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Kyrouac; three brothers, Arthur, Paul, and Donald; and sisters, Mary Louise and Cecelia.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph University Parish in Terre Haute on April 15 at 11am. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois will take place at a future date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph University Parish in Terre Haute or to the charity of the donor's choice.
