BRAZIL - Randall Travis Rigney, age 63, fought the good fight and finished his race, departing peacefully to be with the Lord on January 25, 2025.

Randy was born on July 28, 1961, in Louisville, KY to parents Irvin and Josephine (Keltner) Rigney.

He went to Gateway Bible College and soon after married his wife, Ronda Smith. Randy and Ronda spent many years together ministering and pastoring, touching countless lives and growing the Kingdom of God.

Randy, affectionately known as "Papa," could build literally anything, leaving his mark on the physical structure of many churches, homes, and businesses. Even more striking is the mark he left on the lives of those he encountered. He was the truest example of a quiet, steady, selfless, faithful and godly man. If he couldn't be found, chances were, he had snuck off to help someone, always sacrificing himself for his family first, and anyone else in need.

Randy was a man of many skills and few words. He was a preacher, golfer, builder with meticulous attention to details, an embalmer in his early days, he played the trombone and sang tenor, enjoyed watching football, he was a dog dad to Biscuit, a big kid who loved his construction toys, enjoyer of cashews in his v-neck t-shirts and pajama pants, lover of White Castle, he was skilled at dad jokes, had the best laugh, yet the scariest serious face that could strike the fear of God in you in an instant.

Though Randy enjoyed many things, nothing meant more to him than his God and his family. He is survived by his mother Josephine Rigney; his loving wife, Ronda Rigney; his three children Travis Rigney, Maranda McKinney (James), and Jonathon Rigney (Khrystyna); his two grandchildren Jeremiah McKinney and Arabella McKinney; and sisters Jeanie Roemer (Mark) and Teresa Gill (Terry); as well as several dearly loved extended family members.

Visitation will be at New Life Fellowship, 7849 Wabash Ave., Terre Haute, IN 47803, on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Services will begin at 6:00 PM with Pastor Jeffrey Harpole officiating. Burial will be held at Clearview Cemetery, in Brazil.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Soul Light Ministries, 2186 W. U.S. Hwy. 40, Brazil, IN 47834, which he helped found. He was excited about growing this ministry to better serve the community.
