BRAZIL - Ralph Howald, 89, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Hutsonwood of Brazil.

He was born in Clay County on August 4, 1935 to the late Robert and Edith (Woll) Howald. Ralph graduated from Staunton High School and married Nancy Cox on December 11, 1960. He served his country in the United States Marines during the Korean War, and was a lifetime member of the VFW.

Ralph's a lifetime body man; he loved painting and working on cars. When he wasn't working he enjoyed playing music, traveling and mushroom hunting.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Howald; and his sisters, Marilyn Lucas and Becky Drada.

Survivors Include his sons, Bill Howald, Mike (Darla) Howald, and Patrick Howald; grandchildren, Michael (Emily) Howald, Megan (Jerry) Dilley, Joshua Howald, and Jeremiah DeCarli; and great-grandchildren, Charity, Deglin, Michael, Eva, and Deacon.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 9, 2024 in the Bill Webster Memorial Chapel at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Steve Blaydes officiating and burial with military honors to follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Monday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
