Rachel A. Isabell, 65, of Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, in Union Hospital. She was born July 14, 1953, to Clarence and Revella Lewis.
Rachel was employed as a secretary at several places, including Vigo County Welfare, the Department of African American Studies at ISU, Charles T. Hyte Community Center and the Indiana Medical Review Board. Rachel was educated at Booker Washington Elementary, Sarah Scott Junior High and Wiley High School. She attended Indiana State University for one year.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents; son, Benjamin Mark Isabell; brother, Pastor Milton E. Lewis.
Survived by husband, Bishop Quentin Isabell; son, Quentin (Shree) D. Isabell Jr.; daughter, Rachel (Jerome) Genese Potter; two granddaughters, Kasia and Kamia Isabell; mother-in-law, Mary Frances Isabell; five brothers, Howard (Ruth) Lewis, Floyd (Zdda) Lewis, Maynard (Terresita) Lewis, John (Mitzi) Lewis, Edward (Karen) Lewis; two sisters, Mary Lewis and Faith (Ray) McNeil. She also leaves brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large extended family and many friends.
Rachel was a member of the True Gospel Tabernacle Church, where she served beside her husband for many years. She leaves a loving church family.
Services are Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, in the Bethlehem Temple Church at 11 a.m. Calling also Saturday in the church from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Bishop Gary W. Frazier officiating. Interment in the Stewart Lawn Cemetery. Russell Funeral Home assisted.
