UNIVERSAL - Paul Baxendale II (71) of Universal passed away August 22, 2023, at Union Hospital - Terre Haute. Born January 7, 1952, in Clinton to Paul Baxendale Sr. and Viola Crume Baxendale. He retired after 36 years as an inventory technician at Eli Lilly and Company. He was a member of Black Diamond Fire, I.W.L.A. - Rangeline Conservation Club, Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Vermillion County for 15 years, CPR Instructor and Eli Lilly Fire Brigade.
He married Carol Hux on October 17, 1970. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Paul Baxendale III; his sister, Evalinda Baxendale; and his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Della Hux.
Paul is survived by his wife, Carol; 2 daughters, Stephanie Lynn Rigsby of Clinton and Erin Elizabeth (Shane) Watts of Clinton; 3 grandchildren, Ashley Sue (Jon) Weil of Clinton, Sydnee Nicole (Graham) Watts of Frankfort, KY, and Paul K. Baxendale IV of Clinton; 3 great-granddaughters, Addalee Elaine Weil of Clinton, Addy and Lily Watts of Frankfort, KY. and his sister; Pauletta Ruth Baxendale of Clinton.
Services will be conducted at 1:30 PM Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Giovanini Funeral Home with burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:30 am until service time at 1:30 pm, Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Black Diamond Fire Department.
