Myrtle E. Lawrence, 94, of Greenwood, IN, formerly of Jasonville, IN, passed away at 6:05 P.M. Thursday, March 16, 2023 in Greenwood Health and Living in Greenwood, IN.

She was born September 10, 1928 in Vigo County, IN to Edgar McBroom and Maggie Mae (Richey) McBroom.

Myrtle married Ralph E. Lawrence on September 5, 1975; he passed away on March 29, 2017.

Survivors include her children, Kathie Schofield (Mike) of Indianapolis, IN, Margaret Wead (Richard) of Aiken, SC, Gina Campell (Danny) of Parsons, TN, Connie Lawrence of Brazil, IN, Sharon Stevenson of Sullivan, IN, Pam Gadberry (Steve) of Sellersburg, IN, Nancy Dean (Tom) of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Jen, David, Paul, Jamie, Jennifer, Megan, Jessica, Hannah, Natalie, Hope; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Bonnie Dickerson of Brazil, IN; brother-in-law, Bob Murphy of Jasonville, IN; lots of loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Martha Murphy; brother, Thurman "Mac" McBroom.

Myrtle worked as assistant bookkeeper for a bank. She was an active member of Lincoln Christian Church. She enjoyed being outdoors working in the garden and in her flowers. Myrtle enjoyed helping Ralph with whatever task he was doing. When her evening prayers were done she enjoyed playing solitaire on her iPad.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, IN. Visitation is scheduled from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the funeral home. Services are immediately following at 1 P.M. with Pastor Cliff Gano officiating.

Interment will be at New Harmony Cemetery in Prairieton, IN.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Myrtle to Lincoln Christian Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
