MONTEZUMA - Mathieu Johnston Scott, 93, of Montezuma, died at 7 a.m. on June 6, 2016, in her residence. She was born Feb. 12, 1923, in Hiseville, Ky., to William Williamson and Willabelle Grider Williamson.

She had worked in real estate management and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. She was a chairman for the American Cancer Society for the state of Indiana, Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary, an avid reader, loved gardening and sewing, and also loved to renovate old properties.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Scott; and sisters, Barbara Wittenmyer, Judy Dickerson, and Phyllis Norris.

She is survived by three daughters, Dierdre J. Llewellyn of Terre Haute, Mathieu J. Nunery of Indianapolis, and Carlotta M. Riley of Milan; two brothers, Donald and Joan Williamson of Franklin, and Bill and Charlotte Williamson of Hillsdale; one sister, Mary and Dave Thomas of Montezuma; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Brown-Mack Funeral Home. Services will begin at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Keith McIntyre officiating. Military honors will be performed.
