Rockville, Indiana - ROCKVILLE - Mary Lou Wheeler, 92, of Rockville, Indiana, passed away at 3:55 pm Tuesday, August 13, 2019, in her residence. She was a homemaker and a piano teacher from her home for 11 years. She was born June 24, 1927, in Lyons, Indiana, to the late Hubert Loos and Lela Orrest Hubbard.
Her husband, Charles E. Snyder, whom she married May 11, 1947, preceded her in death July 12, 1988. Survivors include her husband, Jimmie Lee Wheeler, whom she married May 8, 1993; also surviving, one son, Chris E. (Sue) Snyder of Rockville; one daughter, Vicki (Doug) Waltz of Largo, Florida; two stepsons, David H. (Laura) Wheeler and Ronald B. (Mary Kay) Wheeler, both of Rockville; one brother, Ned (Barbara) Loos of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was a 1945 graduate of Riley High School and was first runner-up for Miss Indiana in 1946. She was a member of Rockville Christian Church and a 70-year member of Order of the Eastern Star Riley Chapter.
Services will be noon Saturday, August 17, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville, with the Rev. Greg Robbins officiating. Burial will be 3:30 pm Saturday, August 17, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until noon Saturday at Gooch Funeral Home. Memorials, should friends so desire, may be made to the Rockville Christian Church, 292 West U.S. Highway 36, Rockville, IN; or the newly established Haitian Christian Orphanage, Hills of his Grace, 808 W.
