WEST TERRE HAUTE - Martha J. Garrett (80) of West Terre Haute passed away at 6:15 AM, March 30, 2022, at Union Hospital - Terre Haute. Born December 15, 1941, in Terre Haute to Rufus Surber and Doris McDaniel Surber. She was married to James Anthony Garrett Jr., June 17, 1965. She was a member of the Terre Haute Bowling Hall of Fame and a board member of Women's Bowling Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter; Adele Pace; grandson, Tony Gilbert; brother, James W. Surber; and a sister; Rhonda Oachs.
Survived by her daughter; Machelle (J.C.) Dressler of West Terre Haute; her sons, Rufus (Darla) Pace of West Terre Haute and John "Jack" (Jennifer) Garrett of West Terre Haute; grandchildren, Rufus Jr., Amber (Corey), Levi, T.J. (Torie), Zac, Catherine (John T.), John Jr., and Kierra; special niece, Jessica (Tony) Cox; and 6 great-grandchildren.
