Lyle Dale Patterson, 87, of Marshall, IL passed away 4:15 PM Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024 at the Gibson Family Center For Hospice Care in Terre Haute, IN.

On July 26, 1936, he was born in Lawrence County, IL, the son of Ellis and Mildred Rush Patterson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Simmons Patterson; a stepson, Michael Tarrh; a grandson, Kenny Patterson; a son-in-law, Mike Myles; brothers, Larry Patterson, Leo Patterson and Bob Patterson; and a sister, Evelyn Bowden. Surviving are six children, Deborah Myles of Martinsville, IL, Dena (Rob) Porter of Marshall, IL, Mike (Pauline Piehl) Patterson of Martinsville, IL, Teri (Alan) Winemiller of Vincennes, IN, Twila (Tim) Fears of Terre Haute, IN and Tonya Patterson of Terre Haute, IN; stepchildren, Cathy Tarrh and Pete Tarrh, both of Fairbanks, IN, Bob (Alpha) Tarrah, Lynn White and Michelle Tarrh, all of Terre Haute, IN; siblings, Darrell Patterson of Rockville, MD, Sharon Sherman of Dallas, TX and Shirley Pinkstaff of Bridgeport, IL; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Dale was a member of the Carpenters Union at Terre Haute and loved to tinker with cars, tractors, lawn mowers and anything else that people would bring to him to repair. He was a true jack-of-all-trades.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 12 Noon (Central) Wednesday, Jan. 10 at Pearce Funeral Home with a service in honor of his life starting at 12 Noon.
