Locie Rose (Ferris) Buckner, 100, passed away Oct. 28, 2018, in Effingham, Ill. She was born Feb. 22, 1918, in the state of Washington to John and Effie (Davis) Ferris.

Locie enjoyed crocheting, knitting and loved a good competitive game of canasta.

Locie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester F. Buckner; her son, C. Frank Buckner Jr.; her siblings, Elvie M. (Ferris) Smith, Russell Franklin Ferris, Ollie Floyd Ferris, Oringie Lloyd Ferris, Ruby Wanita Walton, Cecil Curtis Ferris, and David Leslie Ferris.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Hand; grandchildren, Jana (Christopher) Martin, Amber (Tom) Gray, Steven Buckner, David (Judie) Buckner, Sara (Justin) Beyers; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until noon Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, at Roselawn Funeral Home in Terre Haute, Ind. A graveside service will be held at noon Sunday, with Pastor Larry Lilly officiating.
