CORY - Lloyd W. Hendrix, 75, of Cory, Indiana, passed away on February 13, 2025, following an extended illness while surrounded by his family.

Lloyd was born on March 2, 1949, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of Paul E. and Margaret (Rockwood) Hendrix. He graduated from Gerstmeyer High School with the class of 1967.

Lloyd married Lana McCullough on December 22, 1983.

Lloyd worked for Putnamville State Farm for 25 years where he taught auto mechanics. He was also a mechanic for Lucas Motors, Adams Pontiac, Frank Kleptz and Don Smith - First Financial Bank. He also owned and operated Cory Auto Repair.

Lloyd was a member of the Cory Zion Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a founding member of the Cory Volunteer Fire Department, which was founded in 1975. He was also a member of the Cory Apple Festival board where he had served as President and Vice President.

Lloyd especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed working on projects and helping others. You could often find him restoring or customizing old cars and hot rods. He also enjoyed making stained glass crafts, fishing, hunting, the Indy 500 and spending time at his cabin. Lloyd enjoyed morning coffee with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Trisha Lund; parents Paul and Margaret Hendrix; and two brothers: Gary Hendrix and Lee Roy Hendrix.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years Lana Hendrix; sons: Chad Hendrix and wife Tamara; Carson Hendrix and wife Melinda; son-in-law Rob Lund and wife Denise; grandsons: Dylan Hendrix and Brady Hendrix; brother Tom Hendrix and wife Pam; many cousins, extended family members; dear friends Shane and Jill Wiram and Alan Bell.

Visitation will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 301 E. Eighth St. Clay City, Indiana, on Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Services will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastors Mark Grayless and Mike Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
