Lesa Marie Sutton, 62, of Marshall, IL passed away at her home on Feb. 4, 2022 from apparent heart failure. Lesa was born Aug. 8, 1959 at Mattoon, IL, the daughter of David and Fran Brown Lashmet.
On Feb. 8, 2005 she married James E. Sutton and he survives. Also surviving are two sons, Chris (Bethany) Nichols of Findley, IL and Andrew (Jody Galbraith) Beeson of Indiananpolis, IN; grandchildren, Gunner Beeson, Preslie Beeson, Braeden Nichols, Reese Nichols and Ainsley Nichols; her mother, Fran Lashmet; a brother, Mark Lashmet; and a special friend, Heather McCullough.
She was a licensed practical nurse and had worked at many healthcare facilities in the Wabash Valley and at the time of her death was employed by the Indiana Dept. of Corrections at Sullivan, IN. Lesa was a 1977 graduate of Cumberland High School and attended Ole Miss following graduation from high school. She later received her certificate to become a LPN from Ivy Tech.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, she enjoyed her times with her Friendship Club of those she maintained a friendship with since grade school and she loved her grandkids and her dogs dearly. Lesa will always be remembered for her strong work ethic.
A visitation will be held 3-6 PM Friday, Feb. 11, at Pearce Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Marshall VFW. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Rescue Me Clifford. Online condolences are being accepted at:
