KINGMAN - Lawrence "Larry" W. Brockway, 86, of rural Kingman, passed away at 1:39 a.m. EDT Sunday, August 15, 2021 at his residence.

He was born August 31, 1934, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of the late Velma Mabel Brockway.

He married Sally Hooker ib November 11, 1960, at the Sacred heart Church in Terre Haute. She preceded him in death June 2, 1996.

Survivors include his children: Lynn (Tim) Warrick of Clinton, Indiana, Elizabeth (John) Webster of Clinton, Indiana, and James (Sandy) Brockway of Tennessee; grandchildren: Sarah, Nick, Amanda, Corie, Ralston, Zach, Chelsea, Lacey, Crystal, Raelyn, Matthew, Ryan, Thea and Bobby; great-grandchildren: Austin, Jake, Blake, Alauna, Nicole, Braelin, Jack, John, Emma, Reagan, Lexi, Ely, Lucas, Jaselyn, Declan, Kinsley, Mallory, Gabby, Shelby, Xyrine and Joe; and great-great-grandson: Gavin.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his mother, his grandparents who raised him (Jess and Anna Brockway), son: Jess Brockway; grandsons: Josh and Justin, two sisters: Marilyn Shipley and Barbara Lambdin, and one brother: Harold Dollison.

Lawrence retired January 1, 1997 after 40 years as a Instrument and Control Supervisor at Cinergy/PSI. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Neptune. Lawrence was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Covington, Indiana serving as Parish Coordinator and on the Parish Council. He was a 1953 graduate of Gerstmeyer Technical High School in Terre Haute, Indiana. Lawrence also attended school in the Kingman and Cates area. He was a member of the Kingman American Legion Post 348 and Melody Squares Square Dance Club in Covington, Indiana. Lawrence delivered meals for senior citizens, and enjoyed fishing and mushrooming.

Mass of Christian Burial: 1 p.m. EDT Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Covington, Indiana; Officiating: Father David Rasner; Burial with Honors: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Covington, Indiana; Rosary services: 10:30 a.m. EDT; Visitation: 11 a.m. EDT until time of Mass at the church.
