ROCKVILLE - Larry Owen Conder, 77, of Rockville, died at 4:18 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2016, in his residence. He retired from C.F. Industries Terre Haute Nitrogen Plant and Wimmer Farms in Rockville. He also served 40 years with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Terre Haute Action Track in fire protection. He was born July 8, 1938, in Bloomington, to the late Clifford Hoyt Conder and Gladys Opal Dunagun Conder.

Survivors include one son, Larry (Cindy) Conder of Genoa City, Wis.; four daughters, Cindy (Dave) Leonard of Crawfordsville, Lisa (Ron) Conder Gray of Rockville, Tammi Ramey of Montezuma, and Marcia Ann Conder of Rockville; one brother, Bobbie (Sheila) Conder of North Terre Haute; three sisters, Judy Roberts of Brazil, Sue Ralston of North Terre Haute and Nancy Ford of Clinton; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Conder; and two brothers-in-law, Chuck Ford and Everett Ralston.

He was a graduate of Otter Creek High School. He served with the Air Force and Indiana Air National Guard for 15 years serving on the Fire Department at Hulman Field. He was a member of the North Terre Haute First Baptist Church, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Oldtimers Club and American Legion Paul Taylor Post 48 in Rockville.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 25,2016, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard St., with the Rev. David Ralston officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute. Visitation is 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday.
