TERRE HAUTE - Kathryn Ruth Orman, age 86, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023.

She was born on March 8, 1937 in Burnett to John Calvin Pitts and Ruby Velda Culter Pitts.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years, Joseph Andrew Orman; a son, Dennis Leo Orman; a grandson, David Orman, Jr.; and her siblings, Dorothy Woods, Norma Altheide, Virginia Ellingsworth, Robert Pitts, William Pitts, Jerry Pitts, her twin Kenneth Pitts, and Patricia Rukes; and half siblings, Hazel Mitchell, Flossie Hallett, and Nora Jeffries.

Kathryn was a member of Faith Outreach Church.

Surviving are six boys and four girls, Joseph Orman Jr. and wife Peggy of Hymera, Rebecca Hastings of Terre Haute, Richard Orman of Terre Haute, Cynthia Evans and husband Larry of Terre Haute, David "PeeWee" Orman and wife Sharon of Terre Haute, Madonna Pruitt of Terre Haute, Daniel Orman of Terre Haute, Regina Leturgez of Terre Haute, Dylan "Scott" Orman and wife Shannon of Sullivan, and Jerry DeWayne Orman of Terre Haute; a sister, Darlene Plew of West Terre Haute; 139 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 1 PM at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, with Pastor JC Neff officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
