West Terre Haute, Indiana - WEST TERRE HAUTE - Joyce L. Hamilton, 94 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025 in Union Hospital.

She was born in Jasonville, IN on November 11, 1930 to James Hamilton and Delta Hamilton.

Joyce started school at the age of 4 in a one-room schoolhouse near her home. She graduated from Jasonville High School in 1947 at the age of 16 as co-valedictorian.

Joyce worked as a bookkeeper in Jasonville at the Federated Department Store before moving to Terre Haute where she was employed at Smith Hardware, R.J. Oil Company, and Dumas Salvage Company before retiring in 1993.

Joyce is survived by her nephews Brent Hamilton and Bruce Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Gerald Hamilton.

Joyce's wishes were to be cremated with no services, and her cremated remains will be interred in Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN. Arrangements were entrusted to Fitzpatrick Funeral Home. In Joyce's words, "I've traveled a long way, and not all the roads were paved."
