Avon, Indiana - AVON - Josephine Helen (Heacox) Mayrose, 105, of Avon, Indiana, and formerly of Brazil and Clay City, Indiana, passed away while staying at the Village of Avon.

Josephine was born on September 26, 1919, in Harmony, Indiana, the daughter of Charles A. and Mary Annis (Infield) Heacox. Having never missed a day of primary school Josephine graduated from Van Buren High School in 1937. She worked for Woolworth's department store and Farm Bureau. Much of her life she worked in the Auditor's office at the Clay County Courthouse.

Josephine married Robert Mayrose in 1939; he preceded her in death after 70 years of marriage. She was a member of the Clay City First United Methodist Church. She especially enjoyed working Jigsaw Puzzles, playing Bingo and Euchre, and spending time at the Clay City Senior Citizens' Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Mayrose, daughter-in-law Carole Mayrose, son-in-law Walter Bruce Bland, granddaughter Melinda Mayrose, and nine siblings.

She is survived by her son Jim Mayrose; daughter Linda Bland; grandchildren: Michelle Mayrose (Rob- ert), Ed Mayrose (Amy), Andrea Wilson (Brad), Cynthia McKibbin, Mike Bland (Jenny), and Ellen Hoover (Jerry); great-grandchildren: Cody, Kyle, Brody, Dana, Ashley, Steven, Kelsey, Adam, Abby, and Rachael; and great-great-grandchildren: Cade, Bodie, Olivia, Allison, Eleanor, and Lincoln; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
