Terre Haute, Indiana - TERRE HAUTE - Joseph Korenski Sr., age 77, of Terre Haute left us on June 22, 2025, to be with our Lord. He was comforted by his family and friends.

Joe was born July 9, 1947, in Terre Haute, Indiana. Joe graduated from Garfield High School in 1965. He was called into the service of his country to go to Vietnam in 1968. He began cutting hair at the Orpheum in the early '70's and opened "Joe's Hair Center" in 1977 on 7th and Wabash where he cut hair for over 40 years before retiring.

Joe had a zest for life, a great sense of humor and much love for his family. He loved the social interaction he had with his friends who were also his customers while cutting hair. Joe had a great sense of pride for his country that he loved very much. Joe's favorite moments in life were spending time with his wife Margaret, tending to his garden, hunting with his son Brett, target practice with his son Joey, watching his grandson Jack grow and eating delicious holiday meals prepared by his daughter-in-law Melanie and his wife.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife Margaret to whom he was married for 50 years; his parents, Matt and Margaret Karenski; and three older brothers, George, Stan and Matt Korenski. Joe the Barber's memories and life live on in his loving family: sons Joseph Korenski Jr. and Brett Korenski (Melanie), and grandson Jack. Memories of Joe can also be found in his many nieces and nephews and his friends whose lives he touched.

Visitation for Joe will be 4-8 pm Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Greiner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be the following day, Friday, June 27, 2025, at 10 am. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
