John R. Teague, 96, of Bloomingdale, passed away on July 25, 2022, at his residence. Born March 18, 1926, in Penn Township, Parke County, Indiana, he was the son of Roland J. Teague and Goldena Vickry Teague. He married Ruth Evelyn Fuller on April 30, 1966, in Westfield, Indiana. She preceded him in death on August 8, 2018.

John was a 1944 graduate of Bloomingdale High School. He served in the U.S. Army in France during the Korean Conflict. He was a farmer for 70 years and a rural mail carrier for 24 years. He was formerly a co-owner of Williams and Teague Maple Syrup.

John's memberships included Kingman Lodge #314 F&AM; and previously Bloomingdale Lodge #127 F&AM; where he possessed the golden cane representing the most senior member with longest membership in the Lodge. He was also a member of the Rural Letter Carriers Association, National Association of Retired Federal Employees Chapter #1661, the Early American Glassware Society, and Indiana Maple Syrup Association. John and his wife, Evelyn, enjoyed exhibiting their antiques at the Indiana State Fair.

John is survived by special cousins, Sue Woodard of Bloomingdale, Della Griffin of Bloomingdale, Heidi Millspaugh of Rockville, and several other cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Visitation will be on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Bloomingdale Friends Cemetery, beginning at 2:00 p.m., with a Masonic Memorial Service at 2:45 p.m. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. with Charlie Jones officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barnes and Rice Funeral Home of Rockville.
