John Robert Stutler, 75, of rural Marshall, IN, passed away Tuesday, April 12, after a short illness.

Born December 3, 1946, he was the son of Robert Floyd and Mary Birch (Montgomery) Stutler. His wife of 53 years, Karen (Stalker) Stutler, whom he married on December 21, 1968, survives.

John was a1964 graduate of Rosedale High School-where his Hotshots basketball team won the 1964 Wabash Valley County Prelims, and was on Sectional winning baseball teams coached by Woodrow Crane. He was a member of the Bloomingdale Masonic Lodge, Rockville Elks, the Rosedale Methodist Church, and the Parke County Food Pantry volunteers. He loved farming, golfing, and eBaying,but mostly loved spending time with his grandchildren; others enjoyed his kindness and dry humor. After 30 years w/Eli Lilly and Company Clinton Labs, he retired in 2007, and retired from farming in 2013.

Survivors include two sons, Darin (Ann) Stutler of Urbandale, IA; Brad(Susie) Stutler of Brownsburg, IN; six grandchildren, Macy, Maddy, Harry, Sam, Frank, Sally Stutler; two cousins Larry (Jani) Stutler, Judy (Mike)Stutler-Behny; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother, WilliamB; his grandparents William and Ma Emma Montgomery, Oather and Pearl Stutler; one cousin, Carole Stutler Delph.

Visitation is on Monday April 18 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Marshall Federated Church on N Main St, Marshall, IN. Services will be Tuesday, April 19, at 11:00 am at Marshall Federated Church, Marshall, IN with Reverend Brian Holt officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Cemetery St, Rosedale, IN. Barnes and Rice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
