TERRE HAUTE - John Michael Rogers (Mike), 76, of Terre Haute passed away May 27th, 2023.

Mike was born September 1, 1946 to Russell C. Rogers and Elizabeth (Tootie) Peters Rogers.

Mike is survived by his 3 children Judy Kay Green, Shane Rogers and wife Chris, and Shawn Rogers; 4 grandchildren Dustin Green, Shelby Rogers, Dalton Rogers and Rachael Rogers; 1 brother Ronnie Rogers and wife Debbie; and 1 nephew Brian Rogers and wife Michelle.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mike was a hard worker who held his craftsmanship to a very high standard. He was a third-generation baker and an exceptionally skilled steel fabricator.

Mike was also an extremely talented mechanic who enjoyed building and racing old Chevy's. In fact, Mike was a legendary street racer. There are still some in the area who remember his "Maytag" white 1966 SS L79 Nova.

His smile and humor will be missed by his family and friends. He always knew when to crack a joke or do a funny dance to raise someone's spirits.

There will be Graveside Services at Woodlawn

Cemetery Thursday, July 6th, at 10am; and a Celebration of Life Sunday, July 9th, at Collett Park at the North Shelter at 1pm.
