CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA, Calif. - John Richard O'Dea, 79, died at home June 5, 2022 in Carmel, California. Born on November 24, 1942 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the late son of Paul and Catherine O'Dea. He was the eldest of two siblings.
He is survived by his sister, Sheila O'Dea Owen, her husband, O. Keith Owen III and their son, O. Keith Owen IV, all of Houston, Texas.
John attended Indiana University and received a Bachelor's of Science degree in business. He served in the U.S. Air Force before entering a career in sales and then motorsports marketing. He subsequently worked as a small business owner and retired from a real estate investment business.
A private graveside memorial service for family members will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Terre Haute at a future date.
