John Q. "John Boy" Neice, 60, of Seelyville, passed away unexpectedly in his residence Friday night May 27, 2016. He was transported to Union Hospital, unable to be revived and pronounced deceased Saturday May 28, 2016. He was born to John "Jack" Neice and Elizabeth Marie (Archer) Neice, in West Terre Haute, on July 18,1955.

He attended West Vigo High School. He was employed with Turner Coaches for the past 20 years. He married Patricia Jean (Gatewood) Neice on July 20,1991, she survives.

Lovingly known to his family and friends as "John Boy" he will be deeply missed and forever loved and remembered. John enjoyed deer and mushroom hunting with his son, Matt; and fishing with his son, Matt and brother, Jack. He loved his family and grandchildren. John was a very hard working man and an excellent provider to his family.

He was preceded in death by both his parents; his mother-in-law and father-in-law; brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law. He also is survived by his siblings, Elizabeth "Dib" (Marvin) Booker, Fredericksburg, Harvey (Nancy) Neice, Stella Schoffstall, Jack (Susie) Neice and Nellie McMillen, all of West Terre Haute; his children, Velvet (Edward) Mason, West Terre Haute, Naomi Derrick, Jasonville, Heather Gatewood and John Matthew (Megan) Neice, Seelyville; grandchildren, Seth Carpenter, Briana Mason, Cody and Michaela Mason; Kaleb, Kirsten and Gabriel Derrick and Mattelynn Neice. He also is survived by a very large extended family, and many close and special friends.

Services will be 5 p.m. today, June 3, 2016, at Calvary Temple Church, 2100 N. 61/2 St. (corner of Maple Ave. and 61/2 St.) with Pastor Kyle Andrews officiating Visitation is 3 to 5 p.m. today. John has chosen to be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in helping cover expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral service.
