Terre Haute, Indiana - John Richard Collins III, 46 years old, passed away at his parents' home May 12, 2025. He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, the first child of Vicki (Horner) and John Richard Collins Jr., who survive him, on October 31, 1978.

John is survived by his doting "Nan" Patsy (Merson) Horner. John is also survived by son John Richard Collins IV of Dennison, IL, and stepdaughter Lexie (May) Edge. Also surviving are his brother Joshua Collins (Randi) and his sister Sarah (fiancée Clint Jenkins). He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Memphis and Mattie Edge. One niece Adelyn Bailey; and nephews Blaine (Abigail Wingler) and Zane (Morgan Griffin) Collins, and Max and Sawyer Jenkins. Also, great-nephew Rhett Collins and baby Collins, due in September.

Also left to mourn the loss of John are his uncles Randy (Brenda) Mershon, Sandy (Monte) Reece and their children Jessica Jarrod and Jacob Reece and families. David (Jane) Collins and their children Alex and Savannah Englert and families. A "special" aunt Carol Richardson and friend ex-wife Angie (May) Collins.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandpa Ernest C. Horner, and paternal grandparents Betty (Marlette) and John Richard Collins Sr. Also, aunt Carole Anne Collins.

John will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers he has met through the years.

Per John's wishes, cremation was chosen with no visitation or services to be held. Greiner Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to the Wabash Valley Community Foundation in John's name for his legacy to live on.
