WILFRED - Jerry L. Stevenson, 73, of Wilfred, IN passed away at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Miller's Merry Manor in Sullivan, IN.

He was born July 15, 1948 in South Bend, IN to Charles W. Stevenson and Vivian L. (McDaniel) Stevenson.

Survivors include his mother, Vivian Stevenson; children, Jerry L. Stevenson Jr. (Monica) of Mauldin, SC, Charles L. Stevenson (Adriana) of Valparaiso, IN; siblings, Gary J. Stevenson (Sheree) of Niles, MI, Glenda Dean (Thomas) of Hymera, IN; grandchildren, Wayne J. Stevenson, Kylie N. Stevenson, David C. Stevenson, Colin Stevenson, Cecelia Stevenson; 4 nephews and a niece, Thomas III, Adam, Travis, Jason, and Lynnzy and their families; 15 great-nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles W. Stevenson.

While living in South Bend, Jerry graduated Clay High in June of 1967. Jerry served in the US Navy, was a veteran and a member of Shelburn American Legion Post #197. He worked at Wheel Horse, then for 27 years he worked at National Standard Steel in Niles, MI where he worked in the position of relief man learning 54 different operations until his retirement. Jerry moved to the Wilfred area 17 years ago. He loved and enjoyed cars and motorcycles having owned many of both in his lifetime.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, IN. Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 4 P.M. Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the funeral home. Services are immediately following at 4 P.M. with Pastor David Smith officiating.

Interment will be at Friendly Grove Cemetery in Lewis, IN with military graveside rites.
