Jerlean Francis Franklin, 79, of West Terre Haute, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016, at Union Hospital. Jerlean was born in Marietta, Ohio, on June 19, 1936, the daughter of the late Jesse and Jewell (Schaffer) Pitts. She moved to West Terre Haute at the age of 2.

Jerlean was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1009. Mrs. Franklin married the love of her life George "Ike" Franklin on Aug. 27, 1953.

She is survived by her husband; children, Toni Lynn (J.R.) Morgan of West Terre Haute, George (Belinda) Bowman of Terre Haute; brothers, William "Pete" Pitts of Terre Haute, Richard "Dick" Pitts of West Terre Haute, Clifford "Luke" of Terre Haute, Jack (Sue) Pitts of West Terre Haute, Ronald Dean (Kim) Pitts of Terre Haute; sisters, Dee Richardson of Cincinnati, Wanda Marshall of Terre Haute, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be Sunday, May 8, 2016, at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1009 (3708 Wabash Ave.) at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends at the lodge from noon till 1 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Simple Cremations and Burials.
