Terre Haute, Indiana - TERRE HAUTE - Jeanette Irene Auterson, 93, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026 in Harrison's Crossing.

She was born December 9, 1932 in Seelyville, Indiana to Frank and Rose (Hogue) Smith.

Jeanette is survived by her daughters, Deborah Long (Charlie), Linda Cunningham (Lyle), Diana Sheely, Annetta Boes, and Lisa Turner (Allan); son, Donald "Donnie" Auterson (Sandra); sister, May Lucille Long; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Donald W. Auterson, who died March 30, 2014; and also by eight siblings.

Jeanette loved to go to the casino and to go shopping.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services starting at 2:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery in Tecumseh.
