Janene Edington, 77, of Rosedale, passed away at 10:25 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017, in her residence. She was a retired cook at Rosedale Elementary School with 25 years of service and was formerly employed at the sewing factory in Clinton. She was born June 17, 1940, in Carbon, to the late George Pruett and Hazel Evelyn Eppert Pruett.

Her husband of 45 years, Jerry W. Edington, whom she married Jan. 1, 1960, passed away Oct. 11, 2005.

Survivors include two daughters, Tammy (Rick) Sanderock and Becki (Jim) Lowe, all of Rosedale; two brothers, Richard (Florinda) Pruitt of Newport and David (Kathy) Pruett of Montezuma; six grandchildren, Brandon Sanderock, Chelsea Lowe, Darrik Martin, Brittney Atkinson, Joshua Atkinson and Matthew Lowe; one great-granddaughter, Charlotte Martin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by seven siblings. Her family was her greatest legacy all of whom she loved dearly.

Services will be 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 287 N Main St., Rosedale, with the Rev. Dick Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m. Tuesday. Inurnment will be in Rosedale Cemetery at a later date. Memorials should friends so desire may be made to the Food Pantry or Meals on Wheels program of their choice.
