Janelle Lynn Secrest
On November 5th, 2019 - Janelle Lynn Secrest, loving, passionate wife, and wonderful mother of 2 boys, passed away at the age of 55.
Janelle, or "Nell" as family and friends knew her, was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on December 7th, 1963 to Donald & Rosemary Sloniker. She graduated high school from Terre Haute North Vigo in 1982.
On May 2nd 1987, she married Ray Secrest. They have 2 sons, Julian and Lucas. She has lived in Indiana, Florida, and was currently living in Texas.
Nell loved to do crafts. She loved making things for people and was always ready to give her time and energy to make something special for someone. Her latest endeavor was making wreaths for people. She spent countless hours pouring over crafting materials, books, and websites so she could get the latest wreath she was making just perfect for her friends or family. Nell's love for the Lord shined in all she was. She prayed over her family daily. When Nell smiled, it felt like your whole world was okay and in order. She was well known for her charm, intelligence, and compassionate, deep, and caring love for everyone. She was always ready with a helping hand, a warm smile, and loving touch. What we will now miss, heaven has gained.
Janelle was preceded in death by her dad Donald, her mother Rosemary, and her sisters Gina Anderson and Robie Pirtle. She is survived by her husband Ray, sons Julian & Lucas, Sister Karen Loi, Brother Randy Sloniker, brother-in-law Jack Loi, nephews Brandon & Ricky, nieces Sabrina & Sara, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
There will be a memorial gathering for Janelle ‪on Tuesday, November 26th, 2019‬ at "The Life Center Church" located at 3000 College Ave, Terre Haute, IN 47803 ‪from 5:30-7‬PM with a service ‪starting at ‬6PM. Gifts can be sent there.
